Where can Wike find solace politically? — by Abdulraheem Adamu Bappa.
It is in all faiths that what you do in life, or lack there of, is reciprocal. I think I do not need to remind Nigerians of Wike’s inactions and poor utterances to his fellow party members, the presidential candidate and the whole party leadership in the past election.
Out of his ego and rude political behavior he failed in fulfilling the promise he made at the PDP’s convention ground in Abuja, he said, and I quote;
“I will support whoever emerges as the presidential candidate of our great party after a peaceful primaries”, but the pains he felt after being defeated made him withdrew the promise he took with no honor.
What further confirmed to all and sundry about his antiparty to the PDP was the defeat of Atiku Abubakar and the PDP in Rivers during the presidential election, but to our utmost shock, the PDP won other elections within the state.
The Rivers state governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara was the accountant general of the state under Wike’s administration, Wike gave him ticket and he won against the APC candidates.
Fubara is experienced, professional and outspoken, controlling or making him more of a stooge is not in anyway possible but Wike never thought of that.
Fubara overlooked Wike’s authoritativeness until he was pushed to the wall, then he retaliated, and his retaliation brought about a sudden faction in the state’s executive council though he has the support of the majority. Fubara is set to bring an end to Wike’s political carrier as the battle he has embarked on is all about silencing Wike’s incessant noise.
The PDP at the national level is not in good terms with Wike, so also at the state level, and the same applies to the APC, their assertion is that he enjoys with their sweat, meaning that they worked for the APC, but the APC led administration kept them aside and carried Wike from the opposition party.
The northerners are also not with him for not supporting their son, Atiku, those from south east are also angry with him for not supporting Mr.Obi, and his own south south indigenes are also against him for not supporting Okowa and the PDP.
The BIG question here remains;
Where should Wike find comfort politically?
There are exciting times ahead!
