Everyone needs to watch the gripping “Emilokan speech” You know I have watched over and over and I suggest you also go and watch the whole speech if you had not done so before now.
You are absolutely right to use the phrase compelling whose other synonyms include absorbing, engrossing, fascinating, gripping, riveting powerful, arousing or holding the attention.
Tinubu’s speech was all that and more. Yet in the intellectually lazy world of social media which celebrates false news over substance, that speech was maliciously brewed down to one ignoble phrase “emilokan”.
Suddenly “Yoruba lo kan” was maliciously carved out of the speech to make Tinubu appear as a self-serving, self- absorbed megalomaniac.
Despite all the machinations of evil social media vuvuzelas and the opposition, Tinubu and APC proved that no one can hold down or stop an idea and a man whose time has come.
