Extraordinary Foolishness

One reliable instrument to determine where a country belongs on the scale of intelligence is to scrutinize the quality of its laws.

Looking at the quality of the laws that govern Nigeria, it is not a society that qualify as intelligent.

There are needless ambiguities that criminal Judges exploit to subvert justice, under the covers of technicalities.

Nigeria does not qualify as intelligent society. Not anywhere near.

A law has just been passed that makes it mandatory for banks to take money from bank accounts of citizens, and transfer same to the office of the National Security Adviser, NSA.

It is called the Cybersecurity Act.

That anyone with a functioning brain could contemplate that nonsense should raise concern on the quality of thinking that governs the country.

Gentleman who is oblivious to the risks around him.

First, office of the NSA is provided for in the budget proposals presented before the National Assembly.

What happened to that provision?

Now, an idiot somewhere is suggesting that money be deducted from personal accounts of citizens, and dumped in the office of the NSA.

How more moronic can a law sound?

Just how more stupid can it get?

As a citizen, if I buy petrol and I pay with my bank teller card, 0.5% of the amount should be deducted and sent to the office of the NSA.

If I leave the petrol station and go to a shopping mall to buy some items and decide to pay with my bank card, 0.5% of whatever amount I spend should be deducted from my account and sent to the office of the NSA.

In a day, 5,000, 10,000, or even more can be deducted from my account, depending on the volume of my transactions, and sent to the office of the NSA.

These people are robbers.

These are just bandits.

Shameless, idiotic bandits.

There’s no other way to describe them, these are just rogues in leadership positions.

Already, there are positions for service that are classified as “Juicy” ministries.

With this proposed robbing of citizens and dumping the proceeds in the office of the NSA, whoever heads that office will be second in power and influence only to the President.

A worst version of Abacha’s PTF that Buhari headed.

These are just senseless bandits.

With time, monies that will be taken from personal accounts of citizens and dumped there will run into trillions.

My bank will take money from my account as a private citizen, and send to the office of the NSA. Simply because I did electronic transactions.

Who is advising these people?

First, I have to pay every year to government to prove that my vehicle belongs to me.

Every year.

Now this robbery that will take trillions from citizens.

It is now clear why they have made going to the bank for cash very unattractive.

Going to the bank for cash has become frustrating.

These are just robbers.

It is embarrassing the manner of foolishness that we present as leadership in Nigeria.

Too galling and disgusting.

That piece of trash that is called Cybersecurity Act should be treated and dismissed as extraordinary foolishness.
